PG&E will officially open two new zero net energy (ZNE) resources tomorrow at its Stockton Energy Training Center (ETC) — a ZNE Exhibit and ZNE classroom. Both facilities will support the utility’s zero net energy home education programs. Here’s a short video that’s part of the exhibit.

As one of the co-developers of PG&E’s zero net energy homes class series and part of the design team for the ZNE Exhibit, I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s festivities … and even more, to utilizing these new venues in teaching ZNE design and construction with my fellow instructors: Rick Chitwood, Nancy Malone, Steve Easley, Bill Dakin, Chris Calwell, Gary Gerber, and Paul Gipe.

Be sure to check out these new additions next time you come out to the ETC for a class! And if you’re looking for an excuse, here are some dates to put on the calendar — our new zero net energy home retrofit series next spring: March 5, 12, 19, and 26. We’re also offering the series at PG&E’s Pacific Energy Center in San Francisco on March 6, 13, 20, and 27, and in Sacramento, courtesy of the Sacramento Municipal Utility District, on March 19 and April 2, 16, and 30.
