For high-performance home enthusiasts, Green Home Builder magazine’s holiday issue includes “A Better Way of Building” (page 42) an article in which I offer some observations about what high-performance project teams can do to pave the way to more effective collaboration and improved project outcomes.

Also see page 46 for a story on the ABC Green Home 2.0, a 2,200-sf, multi-generational zero net energy home by architect Manny Gonzales, slated for construction in Southern California in 2013. Project manager Nicole Feenstra said, “We want to showcase the Net-Zero element at every level and what the differences are when you’re building a two-story versus a one-story.” I look forward to those lessons learned once the project is completed. This is exactly the type of experimentation we need to inform the pursuit of zero net energy homes, in California and nationwide.
